Mango and lime lassi

On a hot summers day this mango and lime lassi is bright and refreshing. It uses tinned mango puree so it’s quick and easy.

Mango puree, lime juice, yoghurt, ground cinnamon, sugar and a little salt are all you need to make this mango and lime lassi.  Put all the ingredients in a jug, stir well and then fridge until chilled and there you have it. Super simple and seriously tasty. You have the sweet, bright, taste of mango, the zing of lime, the yoghurt’s tartness and then the cinnamon adds a little spice. It’s perfect when you’re sat out in the sun on a hot day.  At any time of the year try serving shots of it alongside a pudding.  It worked well with my raspberry and pecan cheesecake brownie.

Wow it’s been hot, even here in Edinburgh. (Can you tell I wrote this post two weeks ago!)  It’s so wonderful seeing so much of the sun.  I’ve been in my shorts which is super rare for me – I’m a layers girl normally.  Somehow the sun makes everything feel easier.  I was talking with a friend recently and we were agreeing that what’s fine in the summer can feel terribly different in the winter.  JP, our first child, was born in October and now our second child is here and at just 9 weeks old, I’m reflecting on the difference the summer has made.  I remember wrapping JP up in so many layers and then getting out in the snow to get on the bus to go to a museum to meet with friends when our babies were only a few months old.  I feel exhausted just remembering it all.  Whereas doing that all now feels seriously easy in comparison – partly because I’m a much more experienced Mum but mainly because the sun is shining!

But back to this lassi. JP and I make it together and he really enjoys it.  I give it to him in a shot glass and watch as he drinks it and then pushes his tongue to the bottom of the glass to licks up the last creamy drops. It’s fun to be a 2 ½ year old!

  • 425g mango puree
  • 425g yoghurt
  • ½ lime, juice of
  • ⅛ tsp ground cinnamon
  • ½ tbsp caster sugar
  • ⅛ tbsp salt


  1. Mix all the ingredients in a jug.  Place in the fridge to chill for 30 minutes.
  2. Pour into glasses and serve.


This recipe makes 750ml of lassi.  This is enough for two long glasses or 15 shots.
